A Palms Casino Resort visitor from out of state won over $2.1 million from playing slots. According to gambling reviews and news sites, the guest won the Wheel of Fortune jackpot with a $3 bet on July 26. At the time of the spin, the player had 46 cents remaining. Thus, it was the player’s final spin.
After the spin, the player asked a casino official for assistance in verifying the winnings. According to Palms Casino Resort, the actual amount was $2,170,581. The casino resort also shared a commemorative photo with the winning player on its Facebook page.
Several commenters were amazed that the player won over $2 million on a $3 bet with only 46 cents in their wallet, and they congratulated them.
Other Big Winners Aside from the Palms Casino Resort Visitor
Still, this isn’t the sole high-profile victory for Las Vegas in recent memory. For fun, professional poker player Allen Kessler recently played slot machines and earned over $1.2 million. A substantial payout was obtained for an Aristocrat Buffalo slot machine with a wager of $125. According to his explanation, it was almost twelve hours after he started playing when Kessler won. Although Kessler is famous for his poker exploits, he admitted that Buffalo slots are his favorite.
Separately, a man from Wisconsin has won the largest reward ever offered by the Megabucks game—$4.3 million. The man confessed that he had been gambling for decades before winning such a substantial sum, including playing on an online casino platform.
In another story, a Maryland man won $1 million after purchasing a cheaper ticket instead of the one he had eyed initially. Rather than spending $30 on a ticket, the man decided to pay $20 since he thought his wife would be upset if she found out. The moment he made this decision, he became the newest millionaire in Maryland, which changed the course of his life.
Palms Casino Resort General Manager Steps Down
Cynthia Kiser Murphey, the Palms’ general manager, resigned to spend time with relatives who live out of state. In 2021, after purchasing the Palms from Red Rock Resorts for $650 million, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, who own the Yamaava resort-casino in Southern California, became the first Native American group to own and operate a casino in Las Vegas. In September of that year, the Palms’ leadership group welcomed Kiser Murphey, an MGM Resorts International veteran executive, as its first executive.
After being shuttered for two years due to the COVID-19 epidemic and reopening less than a year after the transaction was announced, the 22-year-old resort reopened to the public in April 2022. 2008–2020 was Kiser Murphey’s tenure at New York–New York as president and COO. Before that, Kiser Murphey was the senior vice president of human resources at MGM Mirage, among his previous leadership positions at MGM Resorts. Upon her departure from MGM, she assumed the role of chief executive officer at a sizable benefits fund. She has experience both in the hotel industry and as an adjunct lecturer, and she is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’s program.
The tribal organization that controls the Palms, the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority, did not reveal its interim leadership.
